Reflecting on the Modernist Event: Craft, Connection, and Community
I’m still glowing from the incredible energy at the Modernist event — an evening that reminded me just how powerful it can be when craft and community meet in the same room.
It’s hard to put into words how meaningful it was to share my journey with each of you. From the moment the doors opened, there was a feeling in the air — one of curiosity, warmth, and genuine interest. I could feel it in every smile, every thoughtful question, and every conversation that unfolded. This wasn’t just an event. It was a gathering of kindred spirits — people who believe in the magic of intentional design, storytelling through craft, and finding purpose in the path less traveled.
As a designer, especially one rooted in handcraft and heritage, I spend a lot of time in the quiet moments sketching, stitching, and dreaming. But events like these bring it all to life. To be able to stand in front of a room filled with people who see the heart behind each piece… it was nothing short of joyful. I got to share not just handbags, but the stories behind them — the why, the how, the moments of doubt, and the breakthroughs. And in return, I got to hear your stories, too — what drew you in, what resonated, and what you saw in the work that maybe even I hadn’t seen yet.
There’s something rare and beautiful about creating moments where art, craft, and connection collide. That was the soul of the Modernist event. It wasn’t about selling a product — it was about sharing a point of view, inviting people into a creative world, and finding mutual inspiration in the process.
I’m deeply grateful for the opportunity to be part of this thoughtfully curated evening, for everyone who took the time to attend, and for those who stopped to see and truly engage. Your presence turned this into something truly special. These are the moments that sustain the dream and remind me why I do what I do.
